UTA Glass program

The Glass program has been a highlight and a staple within the Arlington, University and DFW communities. We are the only university program in the State of Texas, and only one of 3 in the Southern/central United States. 

The Glass program operates out of a multi-million dollar, state of the art facility, which due to the nature of the material, runs 24/7.  Each semester, we accommodate between  65 -100 students who have access 16 hours a day, and even on weekends. Our studio needs constant monitoring and immediate repairs to stay functional. Faculty, Staff and the Students from UTAG share the care and close maintenance or our equipment daily, but often we need more advanced repairing that includes purchasing of very specific and expensive materials and parts. 

The funds raised will be directly used to purchase materials to maintain and rebuild vital pieces of equipment, which students need in order to conduct their artistic research, as well as produce handmade objects to share with the local, regional, national, and international communities. Glass is a highly corrosive material, and as such, our electrical and gas combustion systems need constant attention and maintenance, which comes at a high cost. These funds will ensure that students have access to fully pursue their education and future potentials as practicing artists.

I made my gift. Can I do anything else to help? Of course!  Share your gift on social media and encourage other alumni to participate.  They can choose to give to this project or any of the additional projects found at spark.uta.edu. 

What if I don't feel comfortable giving online? We encourage you to give online, so that you can be added to your class's total right away but if you're not comfortable sharing information on this secure platform, there are other giving options:
